Founded as The Nobles in 2006, Regency originally consisted of Bastian Bezerra (Sebastian Bezerra) on bass and vocals, Edward Bezerra on guitar, and Cameron Mancini on drums. As time passed, although they continued to play for their own amusement, a succession of other people came and went as they toyed with different configurations, and eventually Edward joined Bastian on vocals. However, the band remained unknown until 2007, when Jacob Blasbalg joined the band, bringing both his skills at keyboard, voice and guitar and his knowledge of electronic registration. With his stylistic aid, the band's first EP, Let Me Be!, quickly coalesced, and they decided to play their high school Battle of the Bands as an objective. As a test, they played at a local church charity event, where they received a lot of positive feedback, encouraging them to play the Battle of the Bands. The night itself came and went; they played a great set but came a close second when all but one of the judges were swapped at the last minute for the members of a local band- who promptly voted for their friends. However, they did receive several invitations to play as a result of this performance; one of which they ended up doing, the Barrington JamFest, a local anti-drug event, along with several others. They also played a few parties, which makes the sum of their experience to date. The next year, Edward went to private school, Jake to the Air Force Academy, and Bastian to study in Italy, but they are nearing the end of this period and all are looking forward to restarting, although Jake will be replaced by his younger brother Jesse when he must leave for the Air Force. With a new look, a new sound, and a promising new guest singer (Molly O'Brien), the band will be stronger than ever. Welcome to the Regency. |
